The Long and The Short Of It

After three nights out and a diet of beer, curry and chips my poor old body's feeling the strain. It's a day of taking it easy, no car boot sales or anything too strenuous. Jon's cracking on with decorating the spare bedroom and I'm making a start on some patchwork curtains after I've tackled the bombsite formally known as our bedroom.

This is just what one of my wardrobes is looking like. I can't wait to have another room to house my clothing.

Last night we met the gang for a few beers in the local followed by a visit to the Balti house. We bumped into some of the Glastonbury crowd and spent the evening getting fired up in readiness for next year's festival.

This was my outfit. The totally fantastic Alex sent me this amazing skirt this week, it fits to perfection.

Vintage cord maxi skirt (Courtesy of Alex), 1970's Cotton velvet jacket (Car Boot Sale), Oversized cobalt bag (British Heart Foundation, Vintage section, Worcester), Chandelier Earrings (Colaba street market, Mumbai)

Right, off to do battle with the wardrobe.

  2. Loving that jacket. Beautiful sleeves. Everything should be made of cord. Why is there not more corduroy?

  3. Beautiful jacket - such a gorgeous colour and love a puff sleeve. Dig the colourful clutch too. Your wardrobe and bedroom is order and tidiness compared to what mine normally looks like if it makes you feel any better! And it looks like a gorgeous enticing jumble anyway!

  5. Ooh Vix, how nice that it's made a blog appearance so soon! So glad that you love it.

Your wardrobe looks a big explosion of divine colour to me. Very stylish too - my messy pile of clothes on the floor is nothing by comparison!

  6. Sounds like you have been having a good time. I am lucky enough to have a separate room for clothes but trust me, you will always need more room as it is never enough as because you have the space, you will use it as an excuse to buy more. At least that is what I do xxx

  7. He he, and I'm taking it easy tonight, after a punishing weekend of buying and selling; I only wish I could say it was a punishing weekend of socialising! That style of jacket really suits you. Just wait till you see what I found today!!

  8. I'm really likin' that jacket, too! And the look at your wardrobe is SO intriguing. Even if you think it's messy, it is a classy mess! Can't wait to see those new curtains. I remember liking the ones you showed before (and intending to do something like it - but haven't got to it yet.)

  27. Hi Vix!
Loving the skirt and bag :)
I have a couple short-sleeved velvet blazers. I need to look em up!
Little Monkey left a few hours ago. I cried. I'm such a sap for kitties :) The new owners are really neat and excited.
Off to keep working on clearing out wardrobe myself. My rolling rack toppled over from the weight. Another mess to contend with :)

Thirty-eight 1950s vintage sewing patterns in one find! That is almost unbelievable.
