Knock On Wood

This isn't really a wood, it's just more of our uncultivated garden. The dove cote has been there for years, it desparately needs restoring but every time we get around to it some of our little feathered friends have beaten us to it.

These clogs on the other hand really are wood. They were waiting for me in the Salvation Army when I dropped in earlier. The vintage maxi dress was 20p from a jumble sale and the shoes were £1, could it be my cheapest outfit ever?

It's a night in for us, the rosé's on ice and I've spotted some forgotten pretzels hidden at the back of the cupboard.
What are you up to? Hope it's fabulous.

  1. You and Helga are totally twins, you are both barely visable within the greenery today. That frock is wonderful and the price is better still!! Enjoy your wine and pretzel evening.

  2. You have some highly desirable footwear, I must say. Tonight? Well, I'm doing THIS! Knackered after 3 days at work so early night for me. Have a nice time.

  4. OK those shoes are wonderfully YOU !!!!!
And I love this shade of green. No one does a Maxi like you, Vix :) I am Clobbered today and am not close to getting done before Rod gets home. Oh well ;) I have some fun ideas that I hope will work and can't wait to try em. I'll keep on plugging away this weekend. I need a nap. I had to go downtown and re-apply for my medical card. The lines were Sooooo long.
It's frightening how many people are struggling right now for food and a home. I am grateful, but have a tough time seeing the U.S. recovering any time soon. I just hope they don't start a war to boost the economy :(
    Well, enough politics :)
    Have a terrific weekend.
My new favorite word is "clobber" :)
And I need to figure out how much your $ converts to dollars. I just imagine it's dollars and a great buy ;)
I just peeked at the shoes again. Perfect !!!

  7. You look great in the photos with all that greenery, and I like the dove cote. I'm well into clogs too; I brought a traditional style pair in cerise leather last year, which I'm still loving a year later! Have a great evening, we've just got back from having a Thai and I'm stuffed!

  8. What a gorgeous dress! My Friday night consists of cider, roast chicken, and watching Liberty Valance on telly. John Wayne is hilarious!

  10. 1 euro for those clogs?! Nomnom.

I'm going to try to finish my first knitting thingy (a mini wristband haha). Then when I do finish I can progess onto scarfs, then jumpers and then woolie tigh-high socks. Yes, idea, plans, ideas, plans...I am looking forward to the socks. Hopefully Prada-esque ones made with grey/white wool. PLANS.

I love how your garden is over-grown and not super neat. I always like this and dead flowers.

  26. Dear Vix,
You look ravishing in green & those clogs are the bees-knees too.
Your 20p dress bargains always have me totally gob smacked, I mean it’s not like we’re talking some two bit scraggy Primark cast-off but bona fide vintage gorgeousness!
£1.20 for the outfit is just bonkers cheap…
    it looks more like £120+.
I’m gathering some bits & pieces together for another parcel of wee surprises (+the giveaway dress)…
I’ll pop that in the post for you next week!
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.
    Lot’s of love,
    Jem
